When You Need a Home Inspector
Mold is in every home, in the air, all the time. Some molds, however, are toxic, or allergenic to some of the building's occupants. Additionally, if mold colonies are allowed to propagate and grow, structural damage can occur to the home.

The Following Is a List of Indicators
That Professional Mold Inspection Should be Considered:

-
Persistent Allergy-Like Symptoms Not Resolved through Standard Treatment
-
The Onset of Flu/Allergy-Like Symptoms Immediately upon Entering the Home; Musty Smell throughout the Home
-
Water Event (Pipe Leaks, Roof Leaks, Sump Overflow, Etc.)
-
Mold on Floors, Walls, or Ceilings.

When an Inspection Is Warranted
|
-
New Home Buyers: An inspection gives the buyer one more piece of information to make their final decision on the appropriateness of the property for their needs.
-
House Sellers: In a buyers' market, sellers need to be sure there are no issues that could deter an interested buyer.
-
New Construction: Newly constructed homes should be inspected just before closing and/or just prior to expiration of the warranty period (while problems are still the responsibility of the builder).
-
Existing Home Owners: If it has been more than 10 years since your home has been inspected, it is a good idea to have a licensed inspector go to the home to identify new or developing issues.
